This event is open to all involved with Children in performances, e.g. chaperones, dance schools, amateur/professional dramatic societies; the purpose is to offer clarity regarding safeguarding and individual responsibilities within a theatre environment. Its aim is to give all participants a better understanding of how they can protect children & young people from abuse and neglect.

It will take place:

  • on: Saturday May 6th
  • from: 10:00am - 12:00pm
  • at: Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1DE.

The presentations will be led by Dawn Williams, Head of Service Safeguarding, The City of Wolverhampton Council, and include inputs from:

  • Jan Hickman, Child employment/Children in Performances Officer, The City of Wolverhampton Council
  • Adrian Jackson, Chief Executive, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre
  • Mark Ryal, Associate Director Technical Services, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.
