The workshop will enable frontline workers and managers who support adults with care and support needs to explore:

  • What the law says we have a duty to do, to safeguard an adult with care and support needs
  • How does making safeguarding personal (MSP) support choice, control and positive risk-taking
  • The ethical dilemma of protection and safety – v – choice and control
  • Look at some case examples of real practice that has embedded MSP into less restrictive ways of achieving safeguarding outcomes
