World Suicide Prevention Day 10th September 2023

There are three events available for you to join to mark and support World Suicide Prevention Day 2023.

On Wednesday 6 September colleagues from Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust will be hosting an event at Blakenhall Community Centre from 10am to 12 noon. The aim of this event is to bring people together from across Wolverhampton to help prevent suicide, recognise that suicide is preventable and raise awareness of the impact suicide can have on those left behind. We will be delivering a short presentation on the work of the Wolverhampton SPSF and the needs assessment and how we will be applying the findings of the needs assessment as we develop our strategy for 2024-27.

On Thursday 7 September we have our Strategy Development Session being hosted at the University of Wolverhampton. At this event you will:

• receive the findings of the recently completed Suicide Prevention Needs Assessment completed by the Public Health Team
• have the opportunity to network with colleagues who work in the field
• be engaged in discussion and priority setting which will inform the development of our next City-wide Suicide Prevention strategy

On Tuesday 12 September there is an online event open to everyone across the Black Country hosted by the Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust. We will provide professional advice on suicide prevention from our clinicians and hear from our partner organisations and to promote community cohesion & enhance community confidence.
