BASIC SAFEGUARDING E-LEARNING
Wolverhampton Safeguarding partners (all public sector, private sector and voluntary sector organisations based in the city and / or delivering services or support to Wolverhampton residents) that don't have access to their own e-learning platforms can access the City of Wolverhampton Council's e-learning Guest Area FREE OF CHARGE.

About the Safeguarding Boards' free e-learning courses
This Basic Awareness e-learning is suitable for all staff whether or not their job is related to work with children and young people, or adults with care and support needs.
The City of Wolverhampton Council’s e-learning Guest Area has two Basic Safeguarding Awareness modules which must be completed, plus a number of other safeguarding modules.
Employees and volunteers will have access to the Guest Area for one month to complete as many of the modules as they have time to do.
A certificate is available for download on completion of each module which can be shown to a manager / person in charge and added to your training record.
Requesting licences
Licences can only be requested by a manager or person in charge for employees or volunteers (one licence per person - each person must have their own unique email address).
The Manager / person in charge should click on the link above to request licences and then follow the instructions on the spreadsheet download.

SINGLE AGENCY TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES
Wolverhampton Safeguarding Boards partner organisations are responsible for ensuring all relevant staff receive Introduction to Safeguarding Training. Please contact your manager if you have not received introductory safeguarding training within your own agency.

MULTI-AGENCY TRAINING
There are a range of multi-agency training courses provided by Wolverhampton Safeguarding Boards. These are provided FREE OF CHARGE to Board partners (public sector and voluntary sector organisations based in and / or delivering services in Wolverhampton). Private sector organisations, and organisations not based in the city will have to pay a £50 non-refundable charge per attendee for each Wolverhampton Safeguarding Boards multi-agency course (see terms and conditions when booking a place).

Attending training is an essential part of your continuing professional development. Wolverhampton Safeguarding Boards value and encourage the participation of everyone in the range of single and multi-agency training opportunities it provides as this has been shown to improve multi-agency working.
In order to get the most out of a training event we ask that you consider your own responsibilities with regard to attending and assisting in evaluating the training.
Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully when registering for a course. Registration does not guarantee a place on a course as sometimes it is necessary to select participants to ensure a good multi-agency mix of delegates.
WOLVERHAMPTON SAFEGUARDING BOARDS' LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The Learning and Development Committee is made up of members from both Wolverhampton Safeguarding Adults Board and Wolverhampton Safeguarding Children Board (together known as Wolverhampton Safeguarding Boards). It is responsible for:
- producing and monitoring the impact of the Wolverhampton Safeguarding Boards Learning and Improvement Framework
- assuring the Boards that each organisation or sector delivers relevant 'single agency' training to its staff (employees and volunteers) proportionate to the role they have in meeting the needs of children, young people and their families.
- making provision for and overseeing a relevant programme of high quality multi-agency training in response to identified need for all Wolverhampton Safeguarding partner agencies / sectors that makes a difference to the safety of children and young people, and adults with care and support needs in the city.
