NEW Regional Safeguarding Children procedures now in use in Wolverhampton

WSCB Safeguarding Children Procedures (formerly hosted by Tri-X) are now available via a new West Midlands Safeguarding Children procedures portal.

This is the latest development in a strategic direction agreed by Local Safeguarding Adults Boards and Local Safeguarding Children Boards across the Midlands to share work as much as possible at a regional and sub regional level.

This has so far included:

  • West Midlands Regional Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures
  • Black Country Safeguarding Children training programme

BACKGROUND TO THE INTRODUCTION OF THE NEW SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN PROCEDURES

A joint project proposal was successfully submitted to the DfE by all of the West Midlands Safeguarding Children Boards to develop regional safeguarding children procedures. This development is designed to have a range of benefits including:

  • supporting the many partner organisations (including Police, Probation, Health and many others) whose work crosses Local Authority boundaries
  • reducing duplication of effort
  • saving money through reducing duplication of development and hosting costs
