Terms and conditions – Wolverhampton Safeguarding Together

Terms and Conditions of booking training

Attending training is an essential part of continuing development in your role in safeguarding children and young people and adults. Wolverhampton Safeguarding Together value the participation of everyone in a range of training opportunities and the contribution this makes to multi-agency working. In order to get the most out of a training event we ask that you consider your responsibility regarding attending and assisting in evaluating the training. Our training events are an opportunity to learn, develop and share good practice, it is not the place to raise professional frustrations. Please refer to the WST Escalation Policy (Resolution of Professional Disagreements in Safeguarding Work) if you have concerns you need to raise

In order to attend Multi-Agency training you must have a basic awareness of Safeguarding. This can be accessed within your own organisation or if they are not able to provide this can be accessed via our E Learning offer. You should have discussed and agreed with you line manager/supervisor/volunteer coordinator attendance on the training. Roles/responsibilities must fit the description given in the target audience for you to be approved for a place on this course. We may ask for evidence of attendance on basic awareness training or any other pre-requisites.

In placing a booking for this course, you are confirming that your attendance on the course at the date and time that you have selected has been authorised by your line manager/supervisor/volunteer coordinator and they are aware of the cancellation policy.

You are required to attend at the time indicated in the booking confirmation. Late arrival may result in you been turned away from the course. You are required to complete the whole of the training, failure to do so will result in a printable certificate not been issued

Certificates and Evaluations

Wolverhampton Safeguarding Together will strive to continuously improve and develop any training provided. This will be inline with national and local updates and learning from CPSR, SAR and DHR. It is also important that WST can take on board feedback from those who participate in training and the impact the training has on their practice.

Immediately Following attendance on a training course, you will be sent a survey to complete. Once this is completed and received you will be able to access a printable certificate of attendance. We will then send a further survey 3 months post course. WST will also send a survey to line managers/supervisors/Volunteer coordinator to ask for feedback on practice of delegates post training. In addition, members of the Learning and Improvement group will undertake telephone feedback with a sample of delegates who have attended training.

Fees and Cancellation

If your organisation is a partner of Wolverhampton Safeguarding Together i.e. Police, NHS, Education and voluntary sector organisations based in and / or delivering services in Wolverhampton, there is no charge for attending courses. For private sector organisations, for example Day Nurseries, Childminders, Residential providers, and organisations not based in the city, there will be a charge per attendee for each course. This is £50 per for a full day and £25 per part day.

A course applicant may send a suitable substitute in their place if they cannot attend a course they have booked. If you have a confirmed place and do not attend, your line manager will be notified and a charge of £30 will be made unless the place is cancelled at least 5 days prior to the course.
